Aburi is a small hospital about one hour drive from Accra (in Ghana). Main cases are related to maternity care, malaria , respiratory tract , diarrhoea, kids vitally bronchiolitis, kids pneumonia, diabetes. Aburi has about 40 staff members. The hospital treats about 20 000 patients per year. It has also a clinic for acute eye infectious.
Dr Cynthia is the new doctor in charge and she is much interested to lift the small hospital to a higher standard. A handicap is a lack of data. Everything is hand written. All data is on paper and in folders. Missing data is an issue. Having a good ICT system would help them greatly to get in control and to improve the quality of care. Better care also gives the small hospital the ability to earn some additional income to improve the hospital and to pay the recurrent costs.
Africa eHealth Solutions is willing to install an ICT system free of charge and to waive licence costs. But it cannot pay for the equipment costs. Are you willing to help?
