Objectives
The vison of the Africa eHealth Foundation is Affordable Quality Care for All.
The objectives are:
- Encourage the implementation of smart digital solutions in a holistic way to assure sustainability and performance improvement in health care, especially in NGO hospitals. Linking medical doctors in the Netherlands to these hospitals and support them with the digital tools for remote care and telemedicine.
- Stimulate the improvement in preventive and curative health for cardio vascular risk management and diabetes, mental health, maternal health care. This includes research on the configuration of digital means, best practices and contextual conditions.
- Stimulate community empowerment as a tool to improve population health and to strengthen the fore-mentioned objectives.
- Development of a (digital) transformative path for health facilities and coaching of the health professionals. (A data-driven and holistic transformation path for African Health Facilities)
- Stimulate the use of artificial intelligence and machine based learning to achieve for-mentioned objective and to generate a strong social impact.
Policy and Planning (Beleidsplan)
2017 was the year to set-up the organisation of Africa eHealth Foundation, to define the main axes of activities and the develop the website. The policy is translated in projects with their annual planning. The annual plan describes the projects and their realisation. In 2021, the policy plan was updated, but no major changes took place as the current policy proves adequate. Click here for the Policy Plan

Remuneration policy
The Board members are unpaid. They receive no remuneration or expense allowance. They do have the right to request compensation for costs incurred, such as travel expenses or telephone costs.

Financial accountability
The Foundation’s financial resources may consist of subsidies, donations, bequests, assets acquired by testamentary disposition and any further revenues. The financial statements and explanatory notes are approved each year by the Board.
